The event will take place on Tai Wan To Beach (aka Power Station Beach) on Lamma Island on Saturday 17 October 2026, from 8am to 5pm.
The event is made up of a morning and afternoon race. See details below.
Registration
Registration is now open. The deadline for registration is Friday, 2nd October, 2026.
Fees are HK$650 per participant and this includes event organisation, safety boats, a BBQ and salads.

The Race
Starting at Tai Wan To /Power Station Beach, paddlers will proceed around Lamma Island, either clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on prevailing wind. The course is approximately 23km, depending on the route taken.
Morning race around Lamma *:
OC6 UL mixed U18 – OC6 mixed – OC6 women – Coastal Rowers doubles /quads + part one meal
Afternoon race around Lamma*: –
OC6 men – Coastal Rowers doubles /quads + part two meal and awards

The Le Mans Start
The race begins with an exciting Le Mans-style beach start. While the boats are held ready at the water’s edge, the remaining paddlers line up on the sand. At the sound of the horn, they race down the beach, jump aboard and push off, creating a fast-paced and dramatic start to the event.
The Finish
The race ends with an equally exciting shoreline finish. As each boat approaches the beach, one paddler jumps out and races between the flagged markers to cross the finish line on shore. The horn sounds as they cross, recording the crew’s official time. For single-craft competitors, helpers will be ready to catch the boat and assist with a safe landing before the final sprint.
Safety
Safety is a priority throughout the race, with many safety boats on the water during the event. These boats are there to assist paddlers in an emergency and report back to race organisers. Every crew must carry the required safety equipment, including an approved PFD for each competitor, leg rope for smaller crafts, a mobile phone with the emergency contact number saved, plus we reconment sufficient drinking water and the additional equipment specified for their type of craft.
