The Round Lamma Race is one of Hong Kong’s best-known ocean endurance events, bringing together paddlers from across the Hong Kong to take on the challenge of a 25km race circumnavigating Lamma Island.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, the event attracts a passionate community of ocean athletes competing across multiple craft categories, from outrigger canoes and surfskis to rowing boats and ocean racing craft.
The 25km course showcases the very best of Hong Kong’s coastline — open water, ocean swell, rugged cliffs and a busy harbour channel — creating an ‘iron’ race that is physically demanding, visually spectacular and deeply respected within the paddling community.
